How long do Bachelor degrees in Europe last?
Most Bachelor degrees last three years. This is one year shorter than in the US because you apply directly for a course and study that subject or subject combination from the start. In the US you usually study a range of subjects before specialising on your major in the second year. Hence, you study one year more in the US.
The Scottish system is however quite similar to the US system, in that you will study several subjects before specialising in year two. Also, some Bachelor degrees in England and continental Europe last four years if they include a year abroad, for instance.
